OUR MAJOR EVENTS

POINT Interfaith Team is comprised of many faith traditions in Poway and the San Diego County.  We all are committed to the Mission Statement above and continue to seek new and unique ways to educate and serve the community.

2006 – 2016

Interfaith Summer Nights

We invited faith leaders and young adults to share their faith beliefs, cultural performances, ethnic food and to address a relevant topic of the day.

2011 – 2021

Harmony Breakfast

POINT members, clergy, City Council members, School Board, Educators, Students, Police, Fire, & Businesses are invited to meet and share a breakfast together.

2011 – 2020

Spring/Summer Symposiums

Our past Symposiums have included topics such as: How Young Adults Share Faith, Culture, Practice, and Being the Light in the World – The Role of Women in Your Faith. – Witness of Religion in an Age of Fear. – Roots of Division to Acceptance of Diversity. – Ecology and Religion: Ancient Wisdom, Modern Application

2017 – 2021

Interfaith Awareness Week

The second week in August has been declared “Interfaith Awareness Week” by the State of California. Interfaith Groups hold gatherings, events and programs to promote our understanding of all people, faiths, cultures and ethnicities.

2007 – 2019

Sponsored and co-hosted events

  • Honored the Firemen at the Sikh Gurdwara for their heroism after the 2007 Fires.
  • Supported Katie Mayer with her Senior Project at Poway High School.
  • Supported Zander Cohen, the 16-year-old founder of “Walk to End Genocide”·
  • Partnered with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the MOSES Tabernacle experiential event and “Cleaning Up Poway/Helping Hands.”.
  • Instigated a website for interfaith groups to connect from all over the world.  Go to https://world-interfaith.com
  • Helped organize Prayer Vigils after the shooting at the Chabad Synagogue in Poway. 2019.
  • Co-Sponsor with the Poway Library an Interfaith Panel: “Coming Together in Crisis”.
  • A Path Forward Dialogue: A National Conflict Resolution Series 2019
